In an ambitious venture to enhance the scenic coastal stripe, GVMC has its sights set on launching three distinctive beachfront arenas specialized in Sports, Yoga, Meditation, and ecological awareness. This initiative is fueled by the goal to hike tourism and furnish residents and visitors alike with diverse recreational outlets.
Headlining GVMC’s pioneering project is the eco-conscious Turtle Beach, envisaged to grace the vicinity of Sagar Nagar Beach. GVMC’s collaboration with the Forest Department is set to bear fruit in this five-acre beach zone, conscientiously tailored to harmonize with the habitat of the cherished Olive Ridley turtles. With an estimated allocation of ₹15 crore fueling this initiative, the Turtle Beach is not merely an environmental sanctuary but a holistic experience complete with an interpretation center for educational excursions, a tranquil coffee shop, and a variety of amenities including restrooms and rustic shacks. The pièce de résistance is the proposed HDPE floating bridge, set to offer a surreal walkway on the water amidst serene landscaping.
Venturing beyond ecological marvels, GVMC’s blueprint for a serene Yoga and Meditation themed beachfront arena near the ISKCON temple area is a testament to Vizag’s nurturing of the mind and body. Additionally, a vibrant Sports Beach is set to emerge near Jodugullapalem, tailored to invigorate the spirit of athleticism.
Embarking on beach cleanse operations, GVMC has entrusted state-of-the-art machinery to preserve the pristine coastal stretches from RK Beach to Rushikonda. Over recent months, beaches such as Jodugullapalem, Tenneti Park, and Mangamaripeta have witnessed a renaissance, casting off the detritus to reveal their natural splendor.
Complementing these efforts, beautification drives have enhanced Sagar Nagar Beach into a preeminent tourist hotspot. These developments have not only diversified the tourist influx but allowed for a sustainable distribution of leisure seekers across various coastal havens.
GVMC’s vision extends to a greener cityscape, with the Commissioner advocating for an uplift in urban beautification between RK Beach and Bheemunipatnam.
