APSRTC Managing Director Dwaraka Tirumala Rao has clarified that no decision has been taken so far on free bus travel for women. He mentioned “We have submitted a report to the government explaining the burden on
the company if free travel facility is provided. The state government will have to take a policy decision on the implementation.”

Door-to-door delivery facility from today.
Door-to-door delivery and door pick-up logistics services have been made available from Wednesday as a sankranthi festival gift, the MD said. Henceforth, logistics services will be operated through RTC. Earlier, if it was handed over to a private company, it did not yield the desired result. That’s why this decision has been taken,” he said. There will be door pick-up if contacted through www.apsrtclogistics.in website. These services were initially launched in Vijayawada as a pilot project. He said it will be expanded to all areas soon. He urged them to take advantage of this opportunity.

He further said RTC special buses are being run for Sankranthi. A 10 per cent discount on the ticket price will be given if there is a reservation for travel on both sides. Soon, 1,500 super luxury buses will be available with
new features.
